While the highest concentration of interest continues to come from our Mexican and Canadian clients, we are continuing to reach out to other markets to present the opportunities that exist in Punta Mita and the Riviera North Shore. At publication time of this newsletter, Jonathon and Wally are in Madrid, Spain, attending FITUR (International Tourism Fair) at the request of Nayarit’s Governor Ney Gonzalez and the Nayarit Secretary of Tourism, Arq. Edwin Hernandez, in a special section of the Riviera Nayarit Mexico Pavilion dedicated to tourism investment opportunities. Based on RPR’s expertise in resort development in the Riviera North Shore, they are uniquely qualified to speak to potential international investors about the select development opportunities available in our region.

In addition to London and Madrid, RPR has additional outreach programs planned in Aspen, Colorado USA, and Calgary, Alberta, Canada, both in conjunction with local residents and partner high-end brokers. We are committed to continuing to expand our outreach and evolve as a company to ensure our continued growth and the successful representation of our clients’ properties.

New La Cruz-Punta Mita Highway Project Announced

Construction is slated to begin in March 2011 on a new, four-lane highway between La Cruz de Huanacaxtle and Punta de Mita. The project, which will benefit local commuters and tourists, is expected to wrap up by December 2011. The new stretch of highway will be seven miles of high quality hydraulic concrete, which has a long life span of up to 20 years with proper maintenance. Despite initial environmental concerns about the project expressed by the Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources (SEMARNAT) in Mexico City, these have all been addressed and resolved, and the construction is now expected to go forward without impact to the surrounding areas.

8bPunta Mita & Riviera North Shore Surf & Paddle Club: We are meeting at 4:30pm every Friday at Plaza Ollin (Boca Deli) for our Riviera North Shore & Punta Mita Surf & Paddle Club. We then head over to the Residents’ Beach Club in Punta Mita to meet a panga that departs at 5:00pm (weather and waves permitting), and head out together to the best break for that day (there is no cost for the panga/surf adventure except to cooperate with a tip for our captain). Should the waves be too large at the Punta Mita Beach Club we will meet the panga in the village to facilitate our departure and arrival at the El Coral restaurant. Come join us one of these Fridays, no matter if you are a beginner (we do not currently have an instructor), intermediate, or advanced surfer or paddle boarder/surfer. Our idea is to share in another spectacular sunset surf session and meet more people in our community that share the same passion for catching a few waves! January 29th Punta Mita Paddle-out: Join us on Saturday, January 29th when we will be paddling from El Anclote/Hacienda de Mita Beach Club to the Punta Mita Beach Club., around the Punta Mita peninsula. It should be a spectacular adventure, and we will have a safety boat following the group, for anyone who needs to take a rest break.
