Plaza Ollin & Punta Mita Foundation Thanksgiving Event, November 25th 2009, Plaza Ollin along with our stores and businesses will be hosting our first event of the high season on Wednesday, November 25th from 7pm. The spear fishing action has begun, and we have been having a blast. These fish were taken at approximately 50 feet depth while spear fishing (free diving) and one weighed 253lbs!! On the same tour we also caught a 95lb, and 22 mahi’s – this will go down as one of the best days ever! We also shot wahoo and a big black marlin that came off at the end after a fight. The Big Game Fishing and Blue water hunting are the top activities for November, so book now not to miss this once in a lifetime experience!
The winds have now started to fill in from the northwest, with the summer storms gone and the weather change occurring. The winter season has arrived, and with it our famous weather that is second to none the world over. With the northerly winds beginning that means the fun months are just about here for the sailors, windsurfers and kite surfers alike. In the bay of Litibu (known as Kupuri within Punta Mita) and along the western coast of the Punta Mita development you will surely soon see some windsurfers and kite surfers out enjoying this season’s first winds! Once the New Year begins, most of the action will be in Bucerias where a few friends and myself are in the process of creating a small "club". Let me know if you are interested in these sports and we can coordinate and take a group to the beach location in Bucerias. Punta Mita Sailing & Surfing Club
As the appointed head of the Punta Mita Sailing Club and the Punta Mita Surfing Club I would like to hear from all of you who would like to get involved and become founding members of these two clubs. On November 25th at 10am we will have our first meeting for both clubs at the Plaza Ollin. For the Sailing Club I will be coordinating my efforts with Mike Danielson of PV Sailing who is a friend of mine. The first regatta of the season will take place on Wednesday November 25th, it will be a larger boat regatta from NV to La Cruz. Should anyone want to jump on a boat and crew, or should anyone have a boat and wish to enter please contact me as soon as possible so that I can coordinate with Mike and we will make it happen.
